Borealis expands XLPE capacity to meet cable and wire demand

Borealis will expand its crosslinked polyethylene (XLPE) production facilities at Stenungsund, Sweden, and as part of the ongoing Borouge 3 project in Abu Dhabi, the company has announced. The expansion is expected to help Borealis meet demand for polyolefin compounds from the cable and wire segments, Borealis says. Borealis is expanding its XLPE capacity at Stenungsund by 20,000 m.t./year.
