Bechtel appointed PMC on Qatar petrochemical project

Bechtel Overseas has been appointed as project management consultant (PMC) on Qatar’s megapetrochemical complex planned at Ras Laffan. The previously announced project is being developed by a joint venture in which Qatar Petroleum (QP) has 80% and Qatar Petrochemical Co. (Qapco), itself a jv between Industries Qatar and Total, has 20%. The project, planned to be onstream in the fourth quarter of 2018, is one of two such schemes being developed in Qatar. The other, Al Karaana, is a jv between QP and Shell. Fluor is the contractor on this project.  ...
