Bayer appoints Michael Koenig to executive board replacing Richard Pott, who will retire

Bayer said on Friday that its supervisory board appointed Michael Koenig, 49, currently a member of the executive committee of Bayer MaterialScience and head of the polycarbonates business, to the board of management of the holding company effective 1 April 2013. He succeeds Richard Pott effective 1 June 2013. Koenig will take over Pott's duties as labor director and as the board member responsible for human resources; Latin America, Africa, and Middle East; and the subsidiary Currenta.
