Bayer MaterialScience Builds Polyurethanes Raw Materials Plant in India

Bayer MaterialScience says it plans to spend €20 million ($27.1 million) on a new aromatic and aliphatic polyisocyanate manufacturing facility in India as part of its strategy to grow its business in the country and strengthen its position as a market leader in the supply of polyurethane (PU) raw materials. The plant will be built at Ankleshwar in the Indian state of Gujarat by 2011. It will produce Desmodur polyisocyanates, raw materials used in the formulation of PU coatings, adhesives and sealants.
