(DeWitt, AK), a privately-held seeds company supplying soybean, rice, and wheat varieties in the southern U.S. market, with an inhouse soybean breeding program and proprietary soybean germplasm. Bayer CropScience will acquire the seed businesses and gain access to soybean germplasm for future variety and trait development. Financial details were not disclosed. Hornbeck, founded in the early 1980s, has grown into a major seed supplier in the mid-south. It provides seeds to customers in Alabama...
