Bank of England signs supply agreement with Innovia for polymer substrate to be used in new banknotes

The Bank of England has entered into a previously announced contract with Innovia Security, an Innovia Group (Wigton, UK) subsidiary, under which Innovia will supply the polymer substrate  for new-style £5 and £10 banknotes, the bank announced today. The substrate will be produced at a new opacification unit at Innovia's Wigton facility. The plant will be operational from 2016, the bank says.
