(IOC; New Delhi) says it has signed a memorandum of understanding with BP to explore the potential for establishing a 50-50 joint venture to build a 1-million m.t./year acetic acid plant in the state of Gujarat, India, together with associated gasification facilities for the production of synthesis gas. A joint feasibility study is currently underway for the project, which is expected to start up in 2015, IOC says.
