BASF acquires technology company Deutsche Nanoschicht

BASF has acquired the technology company Deutsche Nanoschicht (Rheinbach, Germany), BASF announced today. The BASF subsidiary and the founder and sole owner of Deutsche Nanoschicht, Michael Bäcker, have agreed on the acquisition. Deutsche Nanoschicht has developed an innovative process for producing thin films by chemical solution deposition, a process, which allows high-temperature superconductors to be manufactured much more efficiently and in a resource-conserving way, the company says.
