World News and Views :: Top of the News BASF Sells Cognis's Hythe Site in the U.K. to Geo Specialty Chemicals5:42 AM MDT | June 3, 2011 | Natasha Alperowicz BASF says it has entered into an agreement with Geo Specialty Chemicals (Lafayette, IN) to sell its Bisomer monomer business as well as conventional contact lens operation of Cognis U.K. The transaction includes a manufacturing facility at Hythe, U.K. that produces hydroxy methacrylates, multifunctional methacrylates and specialty adducts, polyalkylene glycols (PAG) and PAG-based lubricants.
