BASF Reports Rise in Sales in Asia

BASF recorded sales of €14.4 billion ($19.3 billion) in the Asia/Pacific region in 2011, compared with sales of €12.5 billion in 2010. Sales increased across all the business segments of the company, but market demand in the chemicals segment was particularly strong, BASF says. Ebit for Asia/Pacific decreased to €1.13 billion in 2011, compared with €1.27 billion in 2010.
