BASF Invests in Ultrason Polyethersulfone Plant in Korea

BASF today announced plans to build a 6,000-m.t./year plant producing the high performance thermoplastic Ultrason polyethersulfone (PESU). The facility will be built at Yeosu, Korea. Construction will begin next year with production scheduled to start in early 2014. About 50 new jobs will be created once the plant is operational. BASF is investing about €2.3 billion in Asia/Pacific from 2011 to 2015 to meet its goal of deriving 70% of its sales from local manufacture, says Albert Heuser, president/market and business development Asia/Pacific...
