BASF Expects Strong Third-Quarter and Full-Year 2010 Earnings

 BASF says it expects strong third-quarter earnings results, and expects 2010 to be a record year. BASF today released its preliminary figures for the third quarter. Ebit before special items rose 77%, to €2.2 billion ($1.6 billion), on sales up 23%, to €15.8 billion. Ebit including special items more than doubled, to €2.15 billion. BASF will announce full third-quarter results on October 28. The consensus of analysts' estimates as reported by Vara Research is for Ebit before special items of €1.58 billion, on sales of €15.2 billion...
