Asahi Kasei to Close Spandex Operations in U.S.

Asahi Kasei Fibers (AKF), an Asahi Kasei subsidiary, says it has decided to restructure its spandex operations in order to improve business results and, as a part of this process, the manufacture and sale of spandex at its Asahi Kasei Spandex America subsidiary, located in Bushy Park Industrial Complex at Goose Creek, SC, will be discontinued.
