Asahi Glass invests over $400 million to expand chlor-alkali capacity in Indonesia

Asahi Glass says that it will invest about ¥40 billion ($406 million) to increase the production capacity for chlor-alkali products at the manufacturing site of its Indonesian subsidiary Asahimas Chemical (Jakarta). Asahimas Chemical’s manufacturing site is located at Cilegon, Indonesia. Asahimas Chemical was established in 1986 and Asahi Glass holds a 52.5% stake in the company; Mitsubishi Corp. owns an 11.5% stake; and Rodamas and Ableman Finance each own an 18% stake.
