Aramco and partners to expand Fujian jv; Aramco takes over from Sabic the marketing of Aramco's share of polyolefins

Fujian Refining and Petrochemical Co. (FRPC; Quanzhou, China), a joint venture in which Fujian Petrochemical has 50% and Exxon Mobil and Saudi Aramco have 25% each, is planning to expand capacity of the Quanzhou, China–based complex, CW has learned. Sources tell CW that the jv plans to add 200,000 m.t./year ethylene and 100,000 m.t./year propylene capacity, and to debottleneck the downstream polyolefin plants. The expansion will take the cracker to just more than 1 million m.t./year of ethylene capacity. FRPC sources some propylene from the upstream...
