Appeals Court Lifts Injunction Against Kevlar Competitor, Pending Appeal

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit (Richmond, VA) has temporarily lifted an injunction issued last month ordering South Korea’s Kolon Industries to halt production of a rival version of the aramid fibers used to make DuPont’s trademark Kevlar products. This most recent ruling lifts the injunction until the court can rule on Kolon Industries’ related appeal. Last month, a lower court ordered Kolon to not produce, market, or sell any para-aramid fiber products, worldwide, for 20 years. The injunction was in addition to $920 million...
