Albemarle Posts 24% Profit Gain

Albemarle beat analysts' estimates by 7% in its fiscal third quarter as strong catalysts and fine chemicals results more than offset softness in polymer additives. The company reported earnings of $116 million ($1.28/share) for its fiscal third quarter ended September 30, up 24% from the same year-ago quarter. Analysts expected the company to post $1.19/share, as reported by Thomson Reuters (New York). Sales increased 24%, to $723 million. Ebitda rose 25%, to $188 million....
