AkzoNobel Forms TiO2 Joint Venture in China (Update)

AkzoNobel says it has entered into a partnership with Quangxi Cava Titanium Industry Co. in China, for the production and supply of titanium dioxide (TiO2), an important raw material in the production of paints and coatings. The joint venture with Quangxi Cava Titanium will involve the construction of a new TiO2 production plant at Qinzhou, China. The plant will help secure AkzoNobel’s growing TiO2 raw material needs for the Asian market, the company says. Financial details of the jv were not disclosed.
