Air Products reports earnings up 3%

Air Products has reported net income of $277 million for its fiscal first quarter, ended 31 December 2012, up 3% from the year-ago quarter. Revenues were $2.6 billion, up 10% from the year-ago quarter, primarily because of acquisitions and improved volumes in the tonnage gases sector, the company says. Reported earnings were $1.30/share also up 3% from the year-ago quarter and 1 ct above analyst estimates as reported by Thomson Reuters.
