World News and Views :: Top of the News European PS producers bullish on prices despite weak end-user demand11:08 AM MST | March 7, 2013 | Francinia Protti-Alvarez Polystyrene (PS) prices fell in Europe between January and February, sliding on the back of lower-than-expected demand. But sellers are expecting an increase in the styrene monomer price in March, supported by higher benzene prices. Styrene and benzene will each be in limited supply as a result of planned turnarounds during March, April, and May. So producers of styrene and PS are nominating contract price increases during March, supported by upstream pressure, and counting on demand caused by restocking.
