World News and Views :: Top of the News Qafco commissions sixth complex, becomes largest exporter of urea11:59 AM MST | December 12, 2012 | Natasha Alperowicz Qatar Fertilizer Co. (Qafco; Doha) on Tuesday inaugurated its Qafco 6 manufacturing complex at Mesaieed, Qatar, becoming the fourth-largest producer of urea and the largest exporter of the fertilizer, commanding 15% of the global export market. Qafco is a joint venture in which Industries Qatar owns 75% and Yara International 25%. The complex was formally inaugurated by Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Qatar’s heir apparent.
