World News and Views :: Top of the News Praxair begins production at its first air separation plant in Russia9:18 AM MST | December 11, 2012 | Sotirios Frantzanas Praxair Volgograd (Volgograd, Russia), a subsidiary of Praxair, has started up its first large-scale air separation plant in Russia. The plant is at Volgograd and will produce oxygen, nitrogen, and compressed air for NikoChem Group's (Moscow) Kaustik division, under a long-term contract, the company says. The production capacity of the plant is 350 m.t./day, and the plant is expected to reduce Kaustik's electricity consumption at the site by approximately 30%, Praxair says.
