Chemtura Reports Flat Profit

Chemtura reported net income from continuing operations of $9 million, flat with year-ago results. Net sales of $773 million were up 9% from the year-ago quarter. Results matched preliminary earnings announced by Chemtura on October 18. Chemtura says that on a managed basis, operating profit was $46 million, up 21% from the year-ago quarter as higher prices and favorable currency impacts more than offset higher raw material and manufacturing costs....
