Vietnam refinery and petchems joint venture holds ground breaking ceremony

Partners in Nghi Son Refinery & Petrochemical (NSRP) joint venture announced today that they held a ground breaking ceremony on Wednesday in the presence of high-ranking officials, including the prime minister of Vietnam Nguyen Tan Dung. NSRP is a joint venture owned 35.1% each by Kuwait Petroleum International and Idemitsu Kosan; 25.1% by PetroVietnam, and 4.7% by Mitsui Chemicals. The project will comprise a 200,000 bbl/day refinery and three petrochemical units designed to produce 240,000 m.t./year of benzene, 700,000 m.t./year of para-xylene, and 370,000...
