Versalis, Elevance partner to transform Italian site into biochemicals complex

Versalis (Milan), the chemical subsidiary of Eni, and Elevance Renewable Sciences (Woodbridge, IL), a producer of specialty chemicals from natural oils, today announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding to establish a strategic partnership to jointly develop and scale up a new metathesis technology to produce biochemicals from vegetable oils.  Versalis and Elevance intend to focus on jointly developing and scaling new catalysts, leveraging the significant progress of this technology that has already been accomplished by Elevance, Versalis says.
