Uhdenora awarded first energy-efficient ODC technology chlor-alkali contract

Uhdenora, a joint venture between ThyssenKrupp Electrolysis and Industrie De Nora (Milan), has signed a contract with the Befar Group to build an 80,000-m.t./year caustic soda plant at Binzhou City, Shandong Province, China. The project will be implemented in two phases with the first 40,000 m.t./year due onstream in the second half of 2015. The second phase will follow shortly after that.   The plant will use the ODC technology jointly developed by Uhdenora, ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions and Bayer MaterialScience.
