U.K. Nitrocellulose Plant to Close

Nobel Enterprises (Stevenston, U.K.) says it will cease production of nitrocellulose at Stevenston at the end of the year with the loss of up to 90 jobs. The company says that the nitrocellulose operation is losing money because of severe competition. The Stevenston site also manufactures single- and double-base propellants for the defense industry.
