Ticona Plans a Series of Expansions in Asia

Celanese’s Ticona says it plans to make a series of new investments in Asia over the next few years. These include a world-scale monomer, polymer, and compounding production facility for its Vectra brand liquid crystal polymer and Celcon/Hostaform brand polyoxymethylene (POM) products, as well as technical development facilities. Ticona announced plans last year to build a 20,000-m.t./year GUR ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene, and a 2,000-m.t./year Celestran long fiber-reinforced thermoplastic compound facilities in China (CW, May 3, 2006, p. 6)...
