World News and Views :: Projects Tata Invests in Singapore Seeds Firm1:22 PM MST | December 5, 2008 | Deepti Ramesh Tata Chemicals (Mumbai) says it has signed an agreement to invest S$25 million ($17 million) in jatropha seedling company JOil (Singapore), to help boost Tata Chemicals’ biofuel program. Tata Chemicals will obtain exclusive marketing rights for JOil’s jatropha seedlings in East Africa and India, and secure a preferential price for seedlings that Tata Chemicals requires for its own cultivation of jatropha. JOil will establish tissue culture laboratories at various locations and market jatropha seedlings produced using micro-propagation technology...
