Tata Chemicals in Research Project to Develop Potassium Sulfate Production in India

Tata Chemicals has signed an agreement with the Department of Science and Technology and the Central Salt & Marine Chemicals Research Institute (CSMCRI; Bhavnagar, India) to develop indigenous production of potassium sulfate fertilizer in India. The partners plan to set up a joint research project at the company's Mithapur site, on the west coast of the Indian state of Gujarat, which will produce 3 m.t./day of potassium sulfate, using an internationally patented process developed by CSMCRI.
