Malaysia’s prime minister Najib Razak said on May 13 that a Taiwanese petrochemical company would take part in a refinery and petrochemical project in Malaysia. Najib was speaking at the official launch of the previously announced $20-billion Rapid refinery and petchem project, led by Petronas. The Taiwanese firm is most likely Kuokuang Petrochemical, sources say. CPC Corp. (Taipei) has confirmed that Kuokuang, an affiliate in which CPC has 43% and other Taiwanese players including Far Eastern Group and Chang Chun...
