Shell extends option to buy Pennsylvania cracker site

Shell Chemical has extended by six months its option to buy a site in Monaca, PA, for the location of a world-scale cracker that would process ethane from the Marcellus shale, according to a statement issued 28 June by Horsehead Holding Corp. (Pittsburgh), the current owner. Shell announced the original land option in March 2012 and signed a first six-month extension in late 2012.
