Shell Invests to Make Dutch Cracker More Competitive

Shell Nederland Chemie, a Shell subsidiary, will make a “significant investment” to strengthen the integration of its ethylene plant at Moerdijk, the Netherlands with its nearby refinery at Pernis. Shell has awarded ABB Lummus Global a contract to modify two furnaces at the Moerdijk plant to crack hydrowax that will be supplied mainly by the Pernis refinery and by other Shell refineries.
