Shalimar Paints to Boost Capacity

Shalimar Paints (Mumbai) says it plans to boost paints and coatings capacity by either building a greenfrield plant in southern India or by acquiring a firm in that region. Shalimar “has already identified three paint companies as possible targets,” says Sandeep Sarda, executive director and CEO of Shalimar Paints. The firm says it expects to finalize its decision within six months. Shalimar says it is the third-largest protective coatings supplier in the country with total paints and coatings capacity of 43,000...
