Sasol to Build Ethylene Purification Unit

Sasol says it will invest R1.9 billion ($257 million) to construct an ethylene purification unit at its Sasol Polymers plant at Sasolburg, South Africa. The plant is expected to come on stream in the second half of 2013 and will be ramped up to full capacity by 2015. The unit will enable Sasol to increase ethylene production by about 48,000 m.t./year. The ethylene will be used in the manufacturing of polyethylene and will benefit the plastics conversion industry in South Africa that currently imports large quantities of this raw material, Sasol...
