World News and Views :: Projects Sasol advances US cracker to FEED phase; Iran divestment talks continue4:41 PM MST | December 3, 2012 | Natasha Alperowicz Sasol announced today that it will proceed with the front-end engineering and design (FEED) of an integrated gas-to-liquids (GTL) and chemicals facility at Lake Charles, LA. Total investment in both projects is estimated at $16 billion-$21 billion The 96,000-bbl/day GTL facility will be completed in two phases of 48,000 bbl/day, with the first to start up in 2018 and the second in 2019 respectively. Sasol puts the total cost of the GTL project at $11 billion-$14 billion, higher than previous estimates mainly because 30% of the fuels will be upgraded to high-value...
