Sabic and Shell plan POSM, polyols projects; ponder petchem investments outside Saudi Arabia

Sabic and Shell Chemicals have confirmed CW’s exclusive report that they plan to invest in propylene oxide-styrene monomer (POSM) and polyols plants in Saudi Arabia. The companies on Sunday agreed to expand their partnership through their existing, equally owned joint venture Saudi Petrochemical Co. (Sadaf; Jubail, Saudi Arabia).
