SK Innovation to form car-battery manufacturing JV in China

SK Innovation (Seoul) plans to enter the Chinese electric vehicle (EV) battery market, the company said today. It will set up a joint venture at Beijing with two state-owned Chinese partners, Beijing Automotive Industry Holding and Beijing Electronics Holding, by the end of June. A letter of intent to form the jv was signed by the partners at Beijing today. The plan forms part of SK Innovation’s efforts to establish a presence in the global EV battery market, the company said.
