World News and Views :: Projects SK Global Chemical and Sinopec sign JV deal for BDO project in China; to invest $610 million7:18 AM MST | February 26, 2013 | Deepti Ramesh SK Global Chemical, the petrochemical business of SK Innovation (Seoul), formerly SK Energy, says that it entered into a joint venture agreement with Sinopec on 25 February, to build the previously announced butanediol (BDO) plant at Chongqing, China. SK Global Chemical and Sinopec will invest a total of 3.8 billion renminbi ($610 million) in the 50-50 jv, which will be formally established in April to build the 200,000-m.t./year BDO plant, SK Global Chemical says.
