World News and Views :: Projects SGL Group and Mitsubishi Rayon Sign Polyacrylonitrile JV Contract7:28 AM MST | December 30, 2009 | Natasha Alperowicz SGL Group (Wiesbaden, Germany) and Mitsubishi Rayon have signed a contract to form a previously announced joint venture to manufacture polyacrylonitrile (PAN), which the partners will supply to a separate carbon fiber and fabrics production jv between SGL and BMW Group. Mitsubishi Rayon will have a 66% stake in the PAN jv and SGL will hold the balance. The new plant will be built at Mitsubishi Rayon's Otake, Japan site.
