Rosneft and CNPC sign contract for delayed refinery and petchems complex at Tianjin

Rosneft and China National Petroleum Corp. (CNPC) have signed a deal covering construction of the much-delayed refinery and petrochemical complex planned at Tianjin, China. The signing took place during a recent visit to China by Russia’s president Vladimir Putin, who met his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping.  Igor Sechin, president and chairman of the board of Rosneft, took part in negotiations and the signing ceremony at Shanghai.   Rosneft and CNPC expect to complete the project in 2019, some four years later than originally planned.
