Rohm and Haas Opens Acrylic Emulsion Plant in China

Rohm and Haas (R&H) says it has started up a new $10-million, 20,000-m.t./year acrylic emulsion facility at Sanshui, China. Products made at the plant include advanced water-based binders and emulsions used in paints and coatings, as well as polyacrylic acid dispersant products used in detergents and mining applications, R&H says. The company has been expanding in emerging regions, including China. R&H is building a $5-million powder coatings plant at Shanghai, which will be its first such unit in Asia, and is investing about $19 million to build an...
