Rhodia Closes French Paracetamol Plant Citing Tough Competition

Rhodia says it will cease production of paracetamol at its Roussillon, France plant by the end of 2008. Closing the plant will result in 43 job losses. Rhodia has another site for producing paracetamol in Wuxi, China, which will not be affected by this action, the company says. The move is part of Rhodia’s ongoing efforts to cut costs and reorganize its businesses to increase profitability, Rhodia says.
