Qatar Solar Secures Financing for $1-Billion Polysilicon Plant at Ras Laffan

Qatar Solar Technologies (QSTec; Doha) has secured financing from the local bank Masraf Al Rayan for the construction of a $1-billion solar-grade polysilicon manufacturing plant at Ras Laffan, Qatar.  The plant will initially produce 8,000 m.t./year of polysilicon, sufficient to provide enough solar energy to power about 240,000 homes for a year.
