(Qapco; Doha) is planning to commission its 2.3-billion Qatari rial ($631.6 million) low-density polyethylene (LDPE) plant at Mesaieed, Qatar, on 20 November 2012 with a formal inauguration ceremony. The 300,000-m.t./year facility will be officially opened by Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani. It will join two existing LDPE plants with combined capacity of 400,000 m.t./year, bringing Qapco’s total LDPE capacity to 700,000 m.t./year.
