Petronas says final investment decision on Rapid will be made this month

Petronas (Kuala Lumpur) will make a final investment decision (FID) on the Refinery and Petrochemicals Integrated Development (Rapid) project in Johor State, Malaysia, by end of this month, reversing previously announced statements that it will be unlikely to meet the deadline because of issues relating to the relocation of residents  from the site and escalating costs.   The 60-billion ringgit ($18.4 billion) project is Petronas’s biggest in the petrochemical sector.
