World News and Views :: Projects Peru and Brazil Jointly Study Petchem Complex11:28 AM MDT | August 18, 2008 | Chemical Week Editorial Staff Braskem says it has signed an agreement with Brazil’s state-owned oil firm Petrobras and Peru’s state-owned oil firm PetroPeru to study a petrochemical complex in Peru. The complex would produce ethylene and 700,000 m.t.-1.2 million m.t./year of polyethylene using Peru’s ethane-rich natural gas as feedstock. The companies did not announce a location for the proposed complex, but sources say that feedstock would be sourced from the Camisea gas field via a pipeline that has outlets near Lima and the port of Pisco, making those sites possible...
