World News and Views :: Projects PTT Asahi Builds Acrylo Complex11:21 AM MST | January 16, 2009 PTT Asahi Chemical has signed a $400-million loan agreement with a syndicate of Japanese banks to finance a previously announced petrochemical complex at Map Ta Phut, Thailand. The complex will be designed to produce 200,000 m.t./year of acrylonitrile using Asahi Kasei’s novel process, which starts from propane rather than propylene, and 70,000 m.t./year of methyl methacrylate based on Asahi Kasei’s conventional acetone cyanohydrin technology.
