Oman Plans Refining And Petrochemical Complex

The government of Oman is planning a refining and petrochemical hub in the country’s coastal area of Duqm, local reports say. Jacobs Engineering is carrying out a feasibility study for the complex, which would include a 300,000-bbl/day oil refinery, a 1.2-million-1.5-million m.t./year polypropylene (PP) plant, a 2.8-million m.t./year aromatics complex, and a 750,000-m.t./year styrene unit.
