Nippon Shokubai Advances Acrylic Acid from Glycerine Process

Nippon Shokubai (Tokyo), one of the global leading producers of acrylic acid with an estimated market share of 13%, says it is at an advanced stage of developing acrylic acid manufacturing process based on grlycerine, a by product obtained in the manufacture of biodiesel from vegetable oil. The company has received a Y20 million ($223,089) fund from the Japanese government sponsored  innovation promotion program, Nedo, to develop the technology and build a pilot manufacturing facility.
